1.
GREEN AND WHITE We sat there bottle in hand Singing republican songs Singing about lost freedoms In the land that our people are from Though we lay across the ocean We never forgot the fight We’re still here singing rebel songs Wearing the green and white Green and white
2.
CONSTANTINOPLE You make me dream like Constantinople The last rites of these days Running like devils with angels at our backs Grant me my rite of passage Like a tempest I will dance with this fury To personify the wind and the rain And maybe I’m to blame Maybe it’s not always black and white Maybe I just lost myself In these shades of grey And maybe I’m to blame For these mountains crumbling And maybe I’m to blame For these broken hearts Sad and lonely only time Could steal your beauty Sifting through the ruin Elusive forever luminous And there’s a quiet that humbles me to silence Flying through the darkness on angel’s wings
3.
THIS SONG IS A BULLET This song is a bullet for a friend Who was raped repeatedly by four men When she was only 17 years old This song is a bullet for what Jurisprudence and victim counseling Could never give back to her This song is a bullet This song is the bullet That ripped through A young friends head When he was only 16 years old He left everyone haunted by questions That could never be answered By a closet painted in brains and blood This song is a bullet This song is a bullet For a bastard of a man that I never knew This song is a bullet For aggression and abandonment Instilled in a young heart This song is a bullet For the memory of you This song is a bullet
4.
ANYTHING, ANYTHING Written by John Easdale. Published by Binky Music and EMI Longitude Music Inc. Used with permission. Originally performed by Dramarama.
5.
GUNS TO THE SKY Adrenalin intoxication let it flow Like rage and hunger just don’t let go Like guns to the sky It’s all that really separates us From the masses and the mundane
6.
Whisky Roads 03:40
WHISKY ROADS Get up off the ground The bottle’s being passed around As the morning light comes shining through One more before I go and than I’m heading home To crawl in next to you Been dancing all night long to those rebel songs I’d swear we’re never going to die She said, “baby, where you been?” I said, “Baby, I don’t know where to begin But I’ve been drinking all night long” These whisky roads they lead to nowhere I hope they lead me home to you These whisky roads they lead to nowhere Think I’ve been down this road before Bottle in my hand I’m making one last stand My knuckles have been scraped Down to the bone Another bar room fight A few more flashing lights And then I’m heading on home to you
7.
Uisge Beatha 03:08
UISGE BEATHA (FIRE WATER) Let the whisky Flow Uisge beatha and a dram I’ve got a song in my blood And the highlands in my heart Losing control and laughing all the while Today we’re going down before the sun Fire water singing songs of the I.R.A. And hey hey baby it’s ok Let the whisky flow Uisge beatha and a dram I’ve got a song in my blood And Long Kesh in my heart Losing control and laughing all the while Today we’re going down before the sun Fire water singing songs of the I.N.L.A. And hey hey baby it’s ok Let the whisky flow Uisge beatha and a dram I’ve got a song in my blood And a free Ireland in my heart Losing control and laughing all the while Today we’re going down before the sun Fire water singing songs of Sinn Fein And hey hey baby it’s ok
8.
LONG ROAD BACK Searching for signs of the sun Through a twelve by four slot In a concrete wall The air so thick with violence You could almost choke on it I’ve been down I open my eyes in the morning The steel bars remind me Just how low I can get I sit on my bunk and read a letter Sent from rural route number one You’re too cold to cry And it’s a fight to get by I’ve been down but not out I can’t stop thinking of you, It’s all that gets me through I’ve been down but not out This time is unforgiving For the first time My memories mean nothing This time is unforgiving For the first time My memories mean everything I’ve been down I can still smell the perfume You sprayed on those letters I close my eyes; let your smile take me home Times like this can kill the best of us It’s a long road back
9.
PRAYERS IN VEGAS The seasons are changing again There’s always something about This time of year That makes me feel like I’m missing something or someone It’s getting cold and the leaves are turning I find myself staring into the distance And I wait For a change to come Like a new day dawning And I wait Like a prayer in Vegas It’s getting hard to draw the line Between living and killing time And it gets harder to break away With every passing day You always swore that we’d end up here Well lonesome is as lonesome does
10.
SONG FOR AIDAN When the days weigh like chains It’s time to break away When home calls to your bones It’s time to settle down I hope for nothing more than your peace I hope that you’ll live to be kind I hope that you’re quick to find your laughter I hope that you live well

FIELDS OF ATHENRY For the Bhoys Written by Pete St. John. Published by Celtic Music. Used with permission.

about

'Long Kesh' marks the debut of Summer of '92 as a full band. A release that took four years with houses purchased, weddings had, children born, members coming and going, moving to other cities or aboard... and returning. To sum up, life got in the way. But determined to see it through, and here is the final result. We think it was worth the wait. Enjoy.
